REEFER AND REFRIGERATION MECHANIC, CATERING DIVISION
Location: Lae 9 Mile, Morobe Province

NKW Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Reefer and Refrigeration Mechanic for our Catering Division, based at Lae 9 Mile. You will maintain, repair and service our commercial refrigeration systems and electric reefer units on trucks, so that our operations run safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair commercial refrigeration systems and electrically powered reefer units on trucks.
• Diagnose and fix faults on cold rooms, freezers, chillers, ice machines and truck reefer units.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Detect and repair refrigerant leaks, and recharge systems.
• Assist with faults on catering kitchen equipment, such as fryers and ovens, where experienced.
• Keep accurate maintenance and service records.
• Follow workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.

Qualifications and experience

• Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or a related trade.
• At least 3 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration maintenance and repair, including electric reefer units on trucks.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

An advantage

• Knowledge of catering kitchen equipment such as fryers and ovens.
