Our client, a growing commercial bank in Papua New Guinea, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer - Bank to lead its Finance function through an exciting phase of growth and capability building. This is a senior executive role reporting directly to the Bank CEO, with a dotted line to the Group CFO, and a seat on the Executive Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the bank's financial strategy, providing insight to the CEO, Board and Executive team to guide strategic decision-making
• Lead annual budgeting, multi-year forecasting and financial modelling, with rigorous variance analysis and reporting
• Oversee daily reconciliation of AP, AR, bank accounts and interbank transactions, with robust controls to prevent unauthorised transactions
• Ensure compliance with BPNG regulations and IFRS, and oversee timely regulatory filings and statutory reporting
• Manage liquidity, cash flow, ALM and funding strategies, and direct money market operations including interbank placements
• Drive automation of financial processes and strengthen internal controls and risk management (market, credit and operational)
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, investors and institutional stakeholders
• Build, lead and mentor a high-performing Finance team, fostering accountability and continuous learning

About You

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
• CPA, CA, CFA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred
• 10–12+ years' progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior banking or financial services role
• Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, treasury operations and regulatory compliance within banking
• Proven track record leading large/medium-scale financial operations and driving organisational transformation
• Deep understanding of banking regulations, including liquidity, ALM and capital adequacy requirements
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with financial systems, automation and data-driven decision-making
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills across regulators, Board members and external partners.
• Solid working knowledge of IFRS (9 & 16).
