About the Role
We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Chefs or Senior Chefs to join our catering team at project sites across PNG. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high quality meals for staff in a remote camp environment, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan & prepare meals for staff.
- Assist to create menus that incorporate local & international cuisine while considering dietary needs.
- Manage food supplies & inventory to minimize waste & control cost.
- Maintain strict hygiene & safety standards in line with PNG health regulations.
- Operate & maintain kitchen equipment & ensure a clean working environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef & or Catering Manager to ensure smooth catering operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the hotel industry or remote camp setting.
- Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of HACCP & food safety standards.
- Be a team player & adapt to challenging conditions.
- Mature, sound & stable temperament.
- Able to work a FIFO roster.
