This bank is seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and operations of one of PNG’s most trusted banking institutions. As a key member of the executive team, you’ll play a central role in driving sustainable growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering value to our members and stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO is responsible for the overall financial stewardship of the Bank – from strategic financial planning and treasury operations to compliance, risk mitigation and team leadership. This role demands a high level of financial acumen, a deep understanding of banking regulations, and the ability to influence outcomes at the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute long-term financial strategy aligned with the Bank’s vision.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic decisions.
• Manage liquidity, treasury operations, and asset-liability strategies.
• Ensure compliance with BPNG regulations and IFRS standards.
• Build and lead a high-performing Finance team with a culture of accountability and innovation.
• Engage confidently with regulators, auditors, investors, and other stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CA, or CFA highly desirable.
• 10-12 years’ senior finance leadership experience, with 5+ years in banking or financial services.
• Strong expertise in treasury, financial planning, and compliance.
• Proven leadership in driving automation and process improvement.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and outstanding interpersonal skills.
