The Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Controller, the Commercial Analyst plays a vital supporting role within the commercial division (Sales & Marketing). You will act as a strategic financial partner, responsible for driving business performance through financial planning, governance, data-driven insights, and cost control initiatives. Working closely with senior stakeholders and key decision-makers, you will support planning and forecasting processes, evaluate trade spend effectiveness, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize profitability and trade investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic business objectives while providing financial insights to enhance profitability and cost efficiency.
- Act as a strategic financial partner, supporting decision-making through data-driven insights and guiding trade investments, pricing, and commercial initiatives.
- Monitor pricing, discounts, and margins, evaluate trade spend effectiveness, and drive cost control initiatives for sustainable growth.
- Support commercial initiatives, track action plans, and provide continuous feedback to the commercial leadership team to drive business performance.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and maintain rigorous performance reporting frameworks.
- University Degree in Finance or Accounting, with an internal or external audit background.
- 2–3 years’ experience in commercial analysis, financial analysis, business analysis, sales analysis, or a related commercial finance role.
- Proven experience working with budgets, forecasting, financial modelling, and performance reporting.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving capability, with the ability to analyse complex data and translate insights into business recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
