Compliance Officer
We are now recruiting for Compliance Officers – Ground Operations. The Compliances Officers will be based in Port Moresby and will report directly to the Safety & Compliance Specialist – Ground Operations. He/She will be responsible for the auditing of business policies & procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all procedures outlined in the Company‘s Exposition are adhered to at these airports;
- Working with the applicable airport Managers to ensure all staff have received training to
- Conduct investigations and assessments on business processes
- Conduct audits of excess baggage and fees collected in VRS
- Conduct physical audits of baggage to further ensure compliance with baggage policy and procedures
- Supervise and assist in the development of Baggage Services and mishandled baggage processes
- Provide feedback and draft responses to procedure and policy-based audit findings
- Provide factual reports and insight to supplement investigations of staff actions carried out within operational systems
- Assist the Safety and Quality team with Risk Assessments for projects or business changes
- Assist with the management, administration and auditing of operations systems, such as but not limited to:
- VRS
- Amelia
- FIDS
- BRS
- LDCS
- Provide monthly reports to management:
- Excess Baggage
- Baggage Services
- Port Audits
- Memo and GSO acknowledgment
- Co-facilitate training for Ground Operations staff
- Update the Operations Manual Suite with relevant policies and procedures based on changing business needs or growth.
- Formulate and Communicate controlled company communications such as Memos and Ground Operations Standing Orders
- Promote a culture of Safety and Quality within the department
- Mentor and provide guidance to all staff on improving safety, quality and compliance in our operation
- Travel to ports and conduct audits, providing reports to management of areas of deficiency or improvement.
- Requirements for the position:
- Be educated up to minimum of Grade 12 and have appropriate relevant work experience;
- Minimum 5 years of Safety and Quality experience in the aviation or similar highly regulated industry
- Be able to understand and communicate with staff at all levels;
- Have advanced computer skills preferably in the Microsoft suite of products.
