ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Assistant Manager – Compliance, the Compliance Officer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring internal AML/CTF procedures and policies relating to record keeping, reporting, risk assessment, customer due diligence measures, and management control systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement internal policies and procedures relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
  • Advise management of any implications of changes to internal policies and procedures.
  • Implement the annual compliance plan and perform relevant quality assurance checks to ensure adherence.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of inspections by financial authorities such as the FASU/BPNG.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews on customers and transactions.
  • Report results of reviews of AML/KYC risk assessments and monitor remedial proceedings.
  • Assist in compiling reports for the board and internal risk and compliance committees
  • Research and keep up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work to develop AML and KYC guidance materials, training resources, and controls.
  • Plan and conduct AML/KYC training sessions for staff, as applicable
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve all activities that are deemed noncompliant.
  • Inform the relevant authorities of any breaches of law or regulations.
  • Address issues relating to transaction monitoring, filtering, and sanctions

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate degree or Diploma in business studies, law, accounting, or specific training in risk management.
  • Preferably with experience in financial institution industry with a focus on review of its compliance or similar roles such as risk and compliance management, or internal audit.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory and legal framework relevant to the financial institution industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Visio.
  • Team player who can collaborate and support colleagues and peers across the organization.
  • Able to work independently and professionally as needed.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines on assignments and manage multiple demands or expectations.
  • Able to work with various individuals within the organization.
  • Analytical and inquisitive mindset.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Committed to skill and self-development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
