About the role

Responsible for coordinating and supervising all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, project timelines, and quality specifications. This role involves managing the construction crew, subcontractors, and resources to deliver a successful project. The supervisor is also the key liaison between the on-site team and upper management, ensuring that all project requirements are met. Projects are located both on surface and underground within the mine.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Ensure compliance with all legislative, company and personal HSE systems.
• Lead / Mentor employees and contractors through visible HSE leadership.
• Manage construction in line with project schedules and available resources.
• Ensure construction is conducted in compliance with design and to the specified project quality.
• Conduct regular and thorough inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with legislation, safety, and environment standards.
• Liaise with underground Mine Supervisor to keep them continually informed of works activities and any changes.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a PNG Driver’s license and qualification in construction management is desirable with underground work supervisor’s ticket is also desirable. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction supervisory roles.

• Strong projects background with demonstrated ability to bring projects to completion on time and on budget.
• Experience with procurement, construction, and project management processes.
• Underground mining / construction experience is desirable.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
