Position Title: Container Control Officer

Job Overview
Container Control Officer supervises the day-to-day operations of container management. Organizes and plans the daily operations, prepares reports, and conforms to the standards, directives and policies of each Principal.

Major Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of Container Management.
  • Organizes and plans the daily operations, prepares reports, and conforms to the standards,
    directives, and policies in place.
  • Coordinates with depots to ensure daily reports are received.
  • Ensures daily update of container activity in QILS, ACOS and FIS.
  • Manages the container stock of all Branch offices.
  • Coordinates with Export Team & Branch office and allocates container for Export booking.
  • In charge of sending loading report and confirmation after obtaining the report from


Terminal and vessel operator.

  • Maintain proper filing of every shipment for audit purposes.
  • Other duties as directed by the Manager.

Essential Attributes:

  • Strong team working skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as the role may involve liaison with customers, container
    depot/terminal, Agents and Principals
  • Ability to deal effectively with difficult customers
  • Good organizational skills to prioritize a varied workload
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and to concentrate on the job in hand during these
    pressurized moments.
  • Computer literacy, as the role might involve using a number of purpose-built computer systems, as
    well as a number of other Principal s’ system.
  • Good attention to detail to ensure correct information is recorded regarding container movement
    and other matters.
  • A willingness to work non-standard hours.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a university degree.
  • Requires at least 2 years of experience in shipping container operations environment is preferred.
  • Requires a high level of planning and organizational skills.
  • Requires general knowledge of the specific job.
