Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items in accordance with established recipes and culinary standards. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals to customers or guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and customer preferences.
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meet established standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Assist in stocking and managing inventory of food supplies.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Monitor cooking equipment and report any maintenance needs.
  • Adhere to dietary restrictions and special requests as needed.
  • Contribute to menu planning and recipe development.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years cooking experience in a restaurant or similar culinary role.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies when necessary.
  • Culinary degree or certification is a plus.
