ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Coordinator - P&C supports KTF’s People & Culture function in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, training, employee engagement, and HR administration and data management. The role is the main contact for P&C related enquiries for PNG employees. It requires good knowledge of PNG workplace legislation, an eye for detail, and the commitment to ensure an inclusive work environment for all KTF employees across PNG. It further requires excellent time management and communication skills as the role will be working closely with the Manager – P&C who is based in Australia,

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the recruitment of PNG-based employees, including liaison with hiring managers in PNG and Australia, candidate liaison, interview scheduling, interview panel support, and conducting reference checks;
  • Assist with the onboarding and induction processes, including monitoring the return of documents and required compliance actions, and the delivery of induction training for PNG employees;
  • Support PNG employee engagement related activities, including the Employee of the Month Program and Learning and Development activities;
  • Use KTF’s HRIS to manage PNG employee data;
  • Complete P&C related financial transactions;
  • Provide a HRIS ‘helpdesk’ service to PNG employees;
  • Provide administrative support to the Manager - P&C during performance management, employment contract, and probation processes;
  • Assist with the collection of HR data for reporting purposes;
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of P&C procedures, templates and systems;
  • Coordinate the PNG medical and life insurance process;
  • Report changes in the PNG HR environment and legislation to the Manager – P&C;
  • Participate in internal KTF committees representing P&C as required;
  • Support other P&C initiatives and activities, and KTF project tasks, as required;
  • Deliver the above in close collaboration with the Manager - P&C.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

  • 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a non-profit organisation;
  • A tertiary qualification in HR;
  • Good knowledge of PNG workplace legislation;
  • Strong capability with the use of technology (HRIS, GSuite, Dropbox, Microsoft 365);
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a fast-paced work environment managing conflicting deadlines;
  • Ability to work both individually as well as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written;
  • Can-do attitude, initiative, and great problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to travel to remote and rural areas of Papua New Guinea;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at work;
  • Have the right to work in Papua New Guinea.
