CORPORATE TRAINING COORDINATOR
The Corporate Training, Safety & Quality Risk Department is seeking for an experienced candidate for the position of Corporate Training Coordinator based in Port Moresby, functionally reporting to Manager Corporate Training.
This role is responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, and managing all training programs for airline staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and aligning with the airline's operational standards. This role encompasses training for pilots, flight attendants, engineers, ground crew, and other personnel as necessary to meet business demands. The Coordinator plays a crucial role in the Safety and Quality Action Group, contributing to the enhancement of safety protocols and operational efficiency through effective training initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and develop (when required) training programs for various airline personnel including pilots, flight attendants, engineers, and ground crew.
- Ensure training programs comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Continuously review and update training materials to reflect changes in regulations, procedures, and technology in consultation with the GMSASR.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, venue arrangement, and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and certification status.
- Manage training budgets (as required) and resources effectively to optimize training outcomes.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for airline staff, ensuring content delivery meets instructional objectives.
- Facilitate interactive learning experiences that engage participants and promote knowledge retention.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and multimedia tools (e-learning) to enhance training effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the Safety and Quality Action Group to identify training needs related to safety protocols and quality assurance measures.
- Implement corrective actions and training initiatives to address safety incidents or quality deficiencies.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback mechanisms, assessments, and performance metrics. Prepare a training evaluation summary to be submitted to the GMSASR within three days of training completion.
- Provide constructive feedback to participants and stakeholders to support continuous improvement.
- Ensure all training programs adhere to relevant aviation regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and industry trends to adapt training programs accordingly.
- Work closely with departmental managers and subject matter experts to develop specialized training modules as per project requirements.
- Foster a collaborative training culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professionalism to ensure the safe, reliable, and on time air travel services aligned with PNG Air's Vision and Mission.
- Maintain accuracy and ensure all training records are up-to-date within 5 business days of completion and to provide the GMSASR a fortnightly training report.
- Successful delivery of projects within agreed timelines.
- Attain and maintain the currency of all accreditations and Instruments of Approval (IOA) issued by CASA PNG or any other relevant authority for the following courses:
- Human Factors/CRM for Cabin Crews and Pilots approvals
- Maintenance Resource Management for Engineers approval
- Safety Management System Instructor approval
- Dangerous Goods approvals
- Inflight Aviation Security for Cabin Crews and Pilots approval
- Safety Emergency Procedures Instructor for Cabin Crews and Pilots approvals
- Train the Trainer (TOT) approval
- Any other approval required to meet business demands
- Carry out other duties or tasks as required by the GMSASR
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES
- IATA training certifications and accreditation
- Proven experience in airline operations and training coordination, with a minimum of 15 years in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in instructional design principles and training evaluation methodologies.
- Technical proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and other training-related software.
