Job Summary:
The Cost Controller is responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and controlling all hotel operating expenses to ensure effective cost management and budget compliance. The role plays a key part in supporting financial discipline across hotel operations, ensuring that spending is optimized without compromising service quality and guest experience in line with Marriott International standards.

The position also provides financial analysis, reporting, and compliance support to management to enable informed decision-making and adherence to established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, monitor, and support the annual budget and rolling forecasts for hotel operations.
• Analyse financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency.
• Review and approve purchase requisitions in line with budget guidelines. Engage with suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing and value for money.
• Prepare and distribute regular cost reports, variance analysis, and financial performance reports to management. Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
• Oversee inventory control processes to minimise wastage and ensure optimal stock levels across all departments.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or related discipline
• Strong understanding of cost control principles and financial reporting
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
• Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work extended hours when required (including weekends and public holidays)
