Courier Driver

We are currently looking for persons with experience and exposure to the logistics industry with sound knowledge of warehousing and delivery procedures, coupled with the ability to provide high customer service delivery pertaining to operational activities. As a Courier Driver, you will sort, deliver and pick up shipments for a specific courier route, in the most efficient and cost-productive manner, whilst providing a professional interface and image to customers and the general public.

Responsibilities will include:

• Attend to customer needs at all times in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
• Provide timely customer feedback to Team Leaders and Supervisors.
• Follow up on all customer inquiries.
• Direct Customer to the right DHL department when further information is required
• Deliver without delay all inbound shipments.
• Collect all Outbound Shipments within a standard time frame and ensure these are passed over to Outbound Processing without delay.
• Electronically Record via a scanner (or manually if required) all shipment process activities.
• Ensure the maintenance of the allocated vehicle.
• Perform duties professionally and courteously in line with the Company's image with respect to all road users.
• Ensure the security and integrity of all shipments whilst in your care.
• Report threats or opportunities related to our Quality or Environment Policies to your supervisor or manager on duty.
• Comply with reasonable instructions from DHL to maintain ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications.

Candidates' requirements for the role include:

• Minimum grade 12 school certificate
• Minimum of two years’ work experience in the logistics industry or similar
• Highly developed customer service skills
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient with the use of computers and other relevant technology
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
• Current police clearance certificate
• Current class 6 driver's license
