CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER (Kokopo)

The Airport Department is seeking for an experienced candidate for the position of Customer Service Officer (CSO). The Position will be based in Kokopo and must have own accommodation.

This position will operationally report to the Port Supervisor and will be responsible for:

  • Pre-editing flights prior to commencement of check-in, ensuring all groups, CIPs, VIPs and TCPs are allocated appropriate seats;
  • Assist passengers through the check-in and boarding process in accordance with the Ground Operations Manual;
  • Assist passengers with special requirements. UMNR, WCHR, etc…
  • Keep all passengers in the lounge informed regarding their flight departure and any other information pertaining to their flight;
  • Forwarding appropriate operational messages to relevant parties;
  • Communicate disruption advice to passengers and provide regular updates;
  • Report all incidents to the Port Manager;
  • Collection of excess baggage charges;
  • Ensuring correct PPEs are worn at all times;
  • Assist passengers on arrival with missing or damaged baggage processes;
  • Answer phone calls and other duties assigned as directed by the Port Manager;

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

  • Must complete Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • At least 1-3 years’ working experience within Operations or in the Aviation Industry.
  • Be a good team player and able to act under one‘s own initiative when required,
  • Must have high customer service standards.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Police Clearance
