POSITION VACANT – CUSTOMS COMPILER

The Mapai Group is seeking to recruit a dedicated and experienced CUSTOMS COMPILER to join our Logistics team in Lae Morobe Province. Reporting to the Customs Broker, the incumbent is responsible for compiling and preparing customs documents, checking customs tariff classification on customs duty on the ASYACUDA customs system, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating smooth import and export operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile and prepare import and export entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and maintain relevant customs documentation, such as invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Register incoming new shipment(s) job & checklist.
• Data entry on Customs ASYCUDA in preparation for customs broker assessment.
• Coordinate quarantine/ NAQIA inspection when required.
• Follow through with cargo release with quarantine.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
• Ensure the client complies with shipping requirements for smooth cargo release.
• Assist with obtaining permits and exemptions.
• Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal teams to facilitate smooth clearance.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must have minimum of grade 12 certificate and a diploma in business management.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Must have ASACUDA experience, PNG customs compiling knowledge,
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Must be adaptive with positive aptitude demonstrated with a genuine desire and commitment to work, be able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
• Must be computer literate
