Customs Runner

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Customs Runner will provide support to the Customs, Operations and Warehouse team. This will include tasks assigned by the Logistics Coordinators to support freight delivery and collection.

Position Responsibilities

The Customs Runner is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:

• Lodge paperwork with Air Niugini for the purpose of clearing international air freight
• Liaise with and assist NAQIA Officers with NAQIA inspections for air and sea freight
• Lodge paperwork with MIT for the purpose of clearing international sea freight
• Lodge paperwork with PNG Customs for the purpose of clearing international sea and air freight
• Support the Operations team with the collection and delivery of freight
• Plan appropriate delivery and collection routes for efficient movement of freight
• Complete vehicle daily pre-start checklist
• Assist the Warehouse Team when required
• General maintenance within the warehouse/office and out at the yard
• Carry out housekeeping activities on supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Participate in site specific Health, Safety, Environment and Security programs

Selection Criteria – Desirable

• Previous experience working for a shipping / freight forwarding company

Qualifications / Licences

• Driver’s Licence (Manual)
• Minimum Year 12 Accreditation
