The Oil Palm Industry Corporation (OPIC) invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated Papua New Guineans to fill several positions at its Head Office in Port Moresby and Hoskins Project in Kimbe.

Database Development Officer

• Location: Head Office, Port Moresby
• Salary Grade: 11
• Position No. EXHS. 026

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Computer Engineering

Experience

• Minimum of four (4) years' relevant experience in database management or a similar role within the Public Service or a reputable organisation.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Design, develop, implement and maintain relational databases.
• Proficiency in SQL for database creation, querying and maintenance.
• Knowledge of database design, normalization, indexing and optimization.
• Develop web-based and desktop applications supporting HR, Payroll, Asset Management, Procurement, Travel Management and Training.
• Develop and maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) and dashboards.
• Integrate software applications with databases and corporate systems.
• Troubleshoot, debug and enhance existing applications.
• Prepare technical documentation, user manuals and system specifications.
• Conduct system testing, user training and provide ongoing technical support.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications.
