Dental Therapy Assistant (8CHSWHP213)

Purpose of the role

Assist the Dental Therapist in the daily operations and provision of Dental Services at the District Hospital. Reports to the District Hospital Dental Therapist to fully understand and implement the activities at the facility.

Out line of duties:

• Assist Dental Therapist in performing routine dental and clerical duties on patients /clients as per required PNG standard treatment protocols
• Assist to implement dental services as ordered by the Medical Officers and Health Extension Officer allowed within their scope of professional practice
• Assist to maintain a record of all clients and dental services provided in a dental registry
• Operate good dental client’s record system
• Accurately enter clients’ details and code information in the dental registry (Book/Computer)
• General filing and printing of request forms
• Any other duties as assigned by the Dental Therapist

Requirements for the role:

• Must have a Diploma /Certificate in Dentistry Assistant.
• Must have 2-3 work as a Dental Therapy Assistant
• Must be registered with PNG Medical Board/Committee
• Good communications skills and inter personal skills
• Must be a team player, self – motivated, and result orientated person.
• Must have a Valid NID Card or Birth Certificate
