We are currently looking for suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the role of District Project Officer- Child Nutrition and Social Protection Project to be based in Kiunga, Western Province.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Provincial Project Coordinator for Child Nutrition and Social Protection (CNSP)Project, the District project officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring project activities by developing monthly plan of actions (POA) according to the Project Detail Implementation Plan (DIP). The District Project Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of the Child Nutrition and Social Protection (CNSP) project at the district and local level government level. This role involves close collaboration with Community Development (CommDev) workers to ensure effective coordination and execution of project activities

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management and Evaluation

  • Coordinate and consult with Project Coordinator to ensure smooth running CNSP project activities at the project site.
  • Organize partners meetings with DFCDR and provincial level and with District Health Team for project activities awareness and implementation.
  • Coordinate & mobilize the resources and requirements of the project activities

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor and document project implementation and make recommendations as appropriate to M & E Officer and Provincial Project coordinator.
  • Contribute in developing training materials to suite the need, local context and language.
  • Assess and provide support to the Department of Community Development and Religion (DfCDR) and local leaders through regular on-site supervisory and advisory visits to enhance partners and community’s competence

Representation & Networking

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with partners (DFCDR, CommDEV workers), district and local level government, local organizations and community groups
  • Promote open discussions with community leaders to evaluate

Documentation

  • Provide monthly statistical reports on-time
  • Provide monthly progress reports, assist in compilation of quarterly, biannual, annual and end of project report

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree or college qualification in social work, agriculture, economics and business, health and public health. Preferably social sciences
  • Certificate in community development background
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in implementing projects engaging various stakeholders/partners.
  • Experience in partners engagement and networking
  • Experience in working with Provincial and District Government Offices
  • Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing
  • Experience in Community mobilization and leadership role
  • Experience in community development as a background
  • Basic understanding of project management cycle principles
  • Effective in written and oral communication; able to speak and write with a high standard of English.
  • Good networking and partnership development skills
  • Sound knowledge in PNG Government systems and programs
  • Computer literate
  • Communication, advocacy & facilitation skills
