The detailed, practical, designs-it-to-be-built kind.

Port Moresby | Full-time

Atlas is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Draftsman or Architect to produce architectural, structural and fabrication drawings for Steel Haus modular housing, structural steel and construction projects.

This is not a role for someone who thinks the job ends when the drawing is issued.

We need someone who understands how lines on a screen become materials in a workshop and finished buildings on site — and who gets the details right before construction begins.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll produce clear, accurate and buildable drawings from concept through to construction and handover.

You’ll work closely with our estimating, engineering, fabrication and construction teams to make sure designs are coordinated, compliant and practical.

You’ll also help prepare the drawings and documentation required for building approvals, fabrication and installation.

The role includes:

  • Producing architectural, structural and steel fabrication drawings.

  • Developing concept designs and working drawings.

  • Preparing shop drawings and fabrication details.

  • Producing construction-issue and as-built drawings.

  • Preparing documentation for building permits and authority approvals.

  • Reviewing designs for buildability and practical construction.

  • Coordinating design changes and drawing revisions.

  • Maintaining accurate drawing registers.

  • Supporting material take-offs and fabrication detailing.

  • Working with estimators, engineers, workshop teams and construction crews.

  • Making sure drawings comply with relevant standards and building codes.

WHO THIS SUITS

You’ll need solid drafting or architectural experience and a strong understanding of how buildings are put together.

You should have:

  • At least 3–5 years’ experience in architectural drafting, construction design or fabrication detailing.

  • Advanced AutoCAD skills.

  • Strong knowledge of building construction and documentation.

  • Experience producing steel detailing or fabrication drawings.

  • The ability to develop a project from concept through to construction.

  • Good drawing-management and revision-control habits.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • The ability to work across several projects and deadlines.

A qualification in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Building Design, Engineering Drafting or a related field is required.

Experience with Revit, ArchiCAD, 3D modelling, modular construction and PNG building approval processes will be highly regarded.

If your drawings look good but create problems when they reach the workshop or site, this probably isn’t the role for you.

WHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE

At Atlas, the drawing office is close to the work.

We design it.
We detail it.
We fabricate it.
We build it.

That means you’ll see your drawings become real buildings and structures across Papua New Guinea.

You’ll be part of a growing PNG business working across steel, construction, housing and infrastructure.

The expectation is simple:

Draw it clearly. Make it buildable. Control the details. Keep the work moving.
