Kainantu Resources Limited (KRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of South Pacific Metals Corp. (TSX.V: SPMC), is seeking highly motivated and experienced Exploration Geologists and Jr Exploration Geologists to join our team.

KRL is advancing multiple highly prospective gold projects in Papua New Guinea’s premier mining regions. These are permanent roles offering an above market salary and excellent career development opportunities.

Position Details:

• Location: Kainantu region, Eastern Highlands, PNG
• Roster: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off
• Focus: Epithermal Au and porphyry Cu-Au systems

Requirements:

• Experience in PNG-based exploration, specifically epithermal and porphyry-type geology
• Strong technical, field, and project management skills
• Excellent english communication ability, report writing
• Supervise day-to-day drilling operations and drilling crews.
• Ensure drilling activities follow the approved drilling program, procedures, and company standards.
• Monitor drilling performance, equipment, pressures, mud parameters, penetration rates, and overall borehole progress.
• Coordinate with drilling contractors, rig crews, drillers, geologists, and other service companies.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems, and emergency procedures.
• Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-job planning.
• Monitor rig equipment and ensure maintenance or repairs are carried out when required.
• Identify and manage operational risks, hazards, and potential control issues.
• Maintain accurate drilling reports, daily operations reports, and relevant documentation.
• Coordinate logistics, materials, personnel, and equipment required for drilling activities.
• Monitor contractor performance, costs, and operational efficiency.
• Investigate incidents, non-conformances, and operational problems and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure drilling operations meet required technical, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Provide regular operational updates to the Project Manager.
• Support planning, drilling optimization, and lessons-learned activities.
• Ability to thrive in remote exploration environments
