About the role

In this role you will support the technical team as a driver and field assistant supporting geological activities on site as we seek to extend the resource at our large and expanding gold mine.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Provide support and service to geology activities, associated with Grade Control Practices

• Stockpile and Rom management, drilling and core work.

• This position reports to the Geologist,

• and forms part of the Mining team accountable for providing geological and Geotechnical support across the organization.

• Observe and adhere to the workplace health & safety policies to ensure safety of employees, contractors and stakeholders

• ROM pad Spotting and other ROM pad duties. Stockpile monitoring and ore spotting and tracking.

• All Mine sampling activities – not limited to faces, stopes, broken ore, self-mined ore, PAF/NAF, stockpiles, sludge holes on regular basis.

• Drill core cutting and sampling.

• Core recovery/RQD logging/core photography.

• Density tests.

• Coreshed and Corefarm work.

• Follow correct QA/QC protocols are adhered to.

• Drilling inspections and monitoring.

• Face mapping and sampling.

• Maintain safe work standards and practices in accordance with government and company policy.

• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a

• Grade ten (10) certificate – minimum.

• Current Driver’s Licence.

• Able to perform duties under minimum supervision.

• Must be a self-starter and be very resourceful and of sober habit.

• Good health and physical ability are prerequisites.

• Be flexible and adaptable and be a team player.

• Able to communicate effectively with relevant supervisors.
