Position

We are seeking to recruit a Driver who will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, stock, staff and other items as required by our Store - 1 Stop Hypermart. The role ensures vehicles are operated responsibly, deliveries and collections are completed on time, and vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy and properly maintained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods, stock, staff, and other items as authorized.
• Complete deliveries, collections and transfers of stock between 1 Stop Hypermart locations, suppliers and other approved destinations.
• Ensure goods are handled carefully and delivered in good condition.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks of the vehicle, including tyres, lights, brakes, oil, water and other safety items.
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.
• Report vehicle faults, damage, accidents and maintenance requirements to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow approved delivery schedules, routes, traffic rules and company procedures.
• Complete delivery notes, trip sheets, logbooks and other required records accurately.
• Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, while following safe manual-handling practices.
• Ensure keys, fuel cards, vehicle documents and other company property are properly controlled.
• Use company vehicles only for authorized business purposes.
• Maintain professional and respectful behavior when dealing with customers, suppliers, staff and members of the public.
• Comply with company health and safety requirements and all applicable road and traffic laws.
• Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the supervisor or management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

• Valid driver's licence appropriate for the company vehicle being operated.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of practical driving experience, preferably in a commercial or business environment.
• Experience in delivery, logistics, warehouse or retail operations is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of local roads, traffic rules and safe driving practices.
• Basic ability to identify vehicle faults and carry out routine vehicle checks.
• Good communication skills and a responsible work attitude.
