The Role
Are you ready to bring your skills to one of the world’s leading companies in the downstream oil and gas sector? Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their Maintenance team in Mt. Hagen. The Electrical Technician will perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on a range of electrical and electronic equipment and systems. You will work both independently and alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, instal, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures using hand and power tools
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults using test equipment
• Ensure electrical installations comply with safety codes and quality standards
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment.
• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors
• Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
• Inspect and test systems to identify hazards and ensure system integrity
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics and blueprints
• Support HSEQ initiatives and comply with company policies and procedures
• Assit in business duties including reporting, equipment ordering, and documentation

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Trade Certification or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within the oil & gas or mining industry
• Certified Electrician with High Voltage Certification
• Ability to work with high voltage systems and proficient in using hand and power tools
• Ability to read electronic schematic diagrams and blueprints
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics and safe work practices
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication and team work
