Electrical Trade Assistant- Farm Based

Zenag Chicken has pioneered the poultry industry in Papua New Guinea for over 75 years. We provide employment to over a thousand employees, with our Head Office based in Lae and our farm a few hours’ drive out of the city, along the Bulolo District.

Due to expansion, we are hiring an Electrical Trade Assistant- Farm Based.

The successful candidate will be responsible to support licensed electricians in various electrical projects. This includes assisting with installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Supporting electricians in wiring, conduct installations and electrical panel assembly.
• Fabricating, assembling, mounting and installing of cableways like conduits, ducting, cable ladders and trays.
• Conducting routine inspections and testing of electrical utilities across the farm on a scheduled basis.
• Assisting in troubleshooting and repairing electrical faults with or without a diagram.
• Gathering required tools, materials and equipment to use in any allocated assignments within the farm.
• Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Ensuring effective communication with team members to ensure project timelines are met.
• Reporting anomalies and challenges encountered on-site.
• Ensuring safety and regulatory compliances are adhered to.

Requirements:

• Must have a relevant Vocational Training Certificate or Diploma in a recognised institution.
• Prior experience in an industrial setup is an advantage.
• Must have a valid Driver’s Licence (PNG Class 6/3).
• Be knowledgeable in basic electrical principles and systems as well as safety practises.
• Can read and interpret single-line diagrams and technical documents.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to details.
• Must be able to use electrical testers.
• Flexible with working time.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Must be physically fit to perform maintenance duties.
