ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN -LAE BASE

International Food Corporation ltd, the leading manufacture of Besta Mackerel, Tuna products in PNG, South Pacific seeking to recruit highly motivated and qualified experience individual to fill the position of Female Electrical Technician.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. The role requires strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, adherence to safety standards and sustainability practices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform electrical installation, repair, and maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Perform, handle and manage electronic and power.
• Calibrate instrumentation.
• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical issues using proper tools and testing devices.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and company policies.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
• Record and report all maintenance activities accurately.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members on technical tasks.
• Promote and maintain safe working practices at all times.
• Perform cost savings or sustainability activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Power, Electronic, Control or Instrumentation.
• Trade Test/License as an Electrical Technician.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair.
• Proficient in using electrical tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with industrial automation, control systems, or PLCs.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient systems.
• Basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
