The Company

We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join Capex Solutions Limited, a growing construction company established in Lae, Papua New Guinea. We are engaged in projects across the spectrum of Commercial, Residential, Civil, Industrial and Mining sectors.

The Role

The Electrician responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within buildings. They play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial structures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting, fixtures, AC units.
• Inspect electrical systems and components to identify issues and malfunctions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems and implement appropriate solutions.
• Install and maintain electrical panels, circuit breakers, switches, AC systems.
• “Tag and Test” experience on portable appliances and construction tools
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals to plan electrical installations.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Order and maintain inventory of electrical materials and equipment.
• Provide guidance and training to apprentices or junior electricians.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have 5 years minimum experience in a the construction environment. In addition to this, candidates should also be able to demonstrate some or all the following.

• Appropriate electrical qualification and license a must
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Attention to detail and precision in work.

Immediate start desirable.

This is a residential, full-time role based in Morobe (Lae), Papua New Guinea. A competitive package commensurate with skills and experience will be offered to the right candidate.
