Position: Electronics Bench Technician

Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

About the Role

TE PNG Ltd is seeking an experienced Electronics Bench Technician who would be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, assembling, and testing electronic components and systems at our workshop in Port Moresby. This role requires a strong understanding of circuit diagrams, schematics, and testing equipment to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Skills

• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic (VHF, UHF radios or similar).
• Soldering (SMT and through-hole).
• Use of test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, function generators).
• Reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Basic programming/firmware (flashing, diagnostic tools).
• Knowledge of ESD safety procedures and cleanroom protocols.

Analytical & Problem-Solving

• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Root cause analysis, failure investigation, and reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Interpersonal & Organizational

• Clear technical communication (verbal and written)
• Time management and task prioritization
• Independent and team-oriented work style

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.

• 3+ years of experience in a similar technician or repair role.
• Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, components, and diagnostic tools.
• Proficient in soldering and rework techniques (SMT and through-hole).
• Ability to follow technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and time management skills
