As an Engineer – Oxygen Plant, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement within the oxygen plant asset management team. Your focus will be on supporting safe, reliable maintenance operations while utilising data, analysis, and structured improvement methodologies to enhance plant reliability and performance.

As part of our team, you will

• Promote and reinforce safety across the oxygen plant maintenance team.
• Participate in and execute continuous improvement initiatives related to downtime, planning KPIs, projects, and production performance
• Partake in shutdown readiness and execution with detailed project scopes, QA/QC, execution team support, continuous improvement initiatives.
• Apply Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify causes of failure and propose effective, sustainable solutions.
• Develop, recommend, and implement asset strategies to improve equipment reliability.
• Report key reliability metrics—including MTBF, MTBS, MTTR, scheduled vs. unscheduled downtime, Availability, and/or OEE—to verify performance improvements.
• Lead and support change initiatives through proper use of the Management of Change (MOC) process, facilitating cultural and operational improvements.
• Work collaboratively as a team member by asking questions, highlighting issues, contributing ideas, seeking feedback, and stopping unsafe work.

Prerequisites for your success in this role

• You will excel in this role if you bring strong engineering fundamentals, a data‑driven approach to problem‑solving, and a proactive mindset towards safety and improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade certification.
• Familiar with SAP maintenance management systems.
• Several years’ experience in maintenance coordination, safety compliance, or performance monitoring.
• Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communications and public speaking skills.
• Solid understanding of maintenance practices, risk management, troubleshooting, and asset reliability.
• Experience with RCFA methodologies and improvement frameworks.
• Competence in using maintenance management systems and data analysis tools, including PI historian and dashboarding platforms.

This role is offered on a 21:21 Fly in, Fly out (FIFO) roster to Lihir Island, PNG.
