Your Impact

As the Engineer Reliability, Operational Readiness, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between project delivery and operational success. You will ensure that projects are set up for seamless handover, helping operations achieve readiness from day one. By coordinating stakeholders, facilitating critical discussions, and establishing operational requirements throughout the project lifecycle, you will directly contribute to the successful delivery and long-term performance of major capital projects. This role is offered on a two year, fixed term contract.

As part of our team, you will

• Lead and coordinate operational readiness activities across a portfolio of projects, ensuring successful transition from project execution to operations.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement sessions to align project and operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain operational readiness plans, frameworks, processes, and documentation.
• Collaborate with project engineers, operations teams, and external partners to ensure projects meet operational expectations and business objectives.
• Identify risks to operational readiness and implement effective mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project delivery teams by providing guidance on engineering, quality, risk management, and operational handover requirements.
• Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and provide updates to stakeholders on readiness activities and project milestones.
• Contribute to the successful commissioning, handover, and operational integration of projects that create lasting value for the business.

Prerequisites for your success in this role

You are a highly organised and driven professional who thrives in complex stakeholder environments and enjoys bringing people together to achieve outcomes. You will bring:
• Experience in engineering design, project delivery, project management, operational readiness, or related discipline.
• Strong communication, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and facilitate discussions at all levels.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing competing priorities across projects.
• Well-developed problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify risks, analyse information, and implement practical solutions.
• Experience working within engineering consultancy, EPCM, project delivery, mining, construction, infrastructure, or oil & gas environments will be highly regarded.
• Excellent written communication skills, including the development of project documentation, plans, and reports.
• A collaborative mindset, sound judgement, strong business acumen, and a commitment to achieving results through teamwork.
• A degree in Engineering or a related discipline is desirable; however, we welcome applications from professionals who have developed strong operational readiness and project delivery expertise through relevant experience.

Your work environment

This role is offered on a 21:21 Fly in, Fly out (FIFO) roster to Lihir Island, Papua New Guinea.

Our FIFO employees stay in a secure and comfortable camp, in an en-suited and airconditioned room equipped with mini fridge, TV and Wi-Fi. A variety of healthy meal options are catered for at our mess; and the wet mess provides a relaxed social setting where employees can unwind with a game of pool or darts.
