Position

We are seeking to recruit a results-driven and professional Excavator Operator based in Port Moresby. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating the excavator for excavation, trenching, digging, loading, earthmoving, and other construction activities while ensuring the equipment is properly maintained and operated in accordance with company safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the excavator safely and efficiently.
• Carry out excavation, trenching, digging, and earthmoving activities.
• Load, move, and handle soil, gravel, sand, and other materials.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure equipment is operated in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the excavator.
• Assist with site preparation and other construction activities.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and site management.
• Complete daily equipment checklists and operational records.
• Ensure work areas are kept safe and free from hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the Department and Company

Qualification and Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification or higher.
• Valid Excavator Operator Licence or relevant operating competency certificate.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience operating excavators.
• Experience working in construction, earthworks, mining, or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance requirements.
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
