Experienced Auto Electrician
(Especially the marine-experience kind)
Important: If you do not have proven auto electrical experience, please do not submit your CV. Marine electrical experience will be a strong advantage.
PNG Motors is one of Papua New Guinea’s leading automotive groups, representing brands like Ford, Mazda, Hyundai, Suzuki, JMC and Joylong. Our workshops depend on accuracy, discipline, and proper technical skill — especially when it comes to electrical work.
We’re looking for an experienced Auto Electrician to join our Port Moresby team. We are especially interested in candidates with marine electrical experience who understand that wiring, diagnostics, installations, and repairs need to be done properly the first time.
This is not a role for someone learning on the job. If your experience is limited, this is not the one to test it on.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical systems across vehicles, equipment, and where required, marine-related applications.
That includes fault finding, reading wiring diagrams, tracing electrical issues, repairing wiring faults, testing electrical systems, and carrying out clean, reliable installations.
You may work on starting and charging systems, lighting, accessories, sensors, ECUs, batteries, switches, relays, wiring looms, and electronic faults.
For candidates with marine experience, your ability to understand electrical systems in boats, outboard-related setups, marine accessories, battery systems, switches, pumps, navigation lights, and exposed-condition wiring will be highly valued.
The expectation is simple: diagnose properly, wire it properly, fix it properly.
Who This Suits
This role suits a qualified and experienced Auto Electrician with real workshop experience and the confidence to work without being carried.
You know how to fault-find properly, not guess. You can read wiring diagrams, use diagnostic tools, and understand how electrical faults affect vehicle performance, safety, and reliability.
If you have marine experience, you understand that electrical work around water, salt, vibration, and outdoor conditions needs a higher level of care. Shortcuts do not last.
You work well with technicians, service advisors, parts teams, and customers when required. You keep your work tidy, your job cards accurate, and your standards high.
If people already call you when the hard electrical jobs land, this will feel familiar.
Why You’ll Like Working Here
PNG Motors operates busy workshops with real volume, real standards, and real expectations. You’ll be working with recognised global brands, proper tools, and experienced teams who understand the value of good technical people.
This is a workshop where skill is noticed, standards matter, and good tradesmen are taken seriously.
For the right person, marine experience will make you even more valuable to the team.
How to Apply
If you’re reading this and thinking, “This is exactly where I should be,” then we want to hear from you.
