Woodlark Mining Limited (WML) is engaged in Mineral Exploration and Development of Woodlark Gold Project, MBP, PNG. WML has entered an exciting phase and is now well positioned to invest and unlock the potential of the Project over the next 18 months. The Company is planning to undertake a comprehensive exploration program and unlock significant potential through trenching and drilling and Project growth. With this comes new opportunities to joint WML Exploration Team on Woodlark Island, as we ramp up activities this quarter. National FIFO roles are now available in our Exploration Team.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Geologists, you will work in a team, tasked with progressing exploration and resource development targets from generative to resource stage. Deposit styles range from low to intermediate sulphidation with limited to data rich targets, hosted in volcanogenic terrain with complex lithologies and structural settings. The role will offer a range of different experiences in exploration and contribute to the teams’ success. The role is well suited to a Geologists with exposure to exploration sector who is looking to join a well-funded project and work with the team to advance several exciting projects on Woodlark Island.

This is a FIFO position working on a 4 weeks on 2 weeks off roster. Preferred Points of hire are subject to incumbents’ skills and experience.

Key roles and responsibilities

• Previous experience with either surface exploration, trenching and drilling (RC and diamond).
• Geological and structural logging of trenches, diamond core and RC chips.
• Update to sections and maps with surface mapping and drilling information.
• Digital input and validation of logging information.
• Sample selection and QAQC controls.
• Daily liaising with earthmoving and drilling contractor, tracking of trench, drilling and sample dispatch.
• Working with geological and geochemical datasets to assist in interpretation of trenching and drilling results.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology.
• Previous exploration experience in epithermal gold and Porphyry Cu systems is desirable.
• At least 3 to 5 years relevant experience, preferably in the gold sector.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and past exposure to relevant GIS, digital data capture software and 3D software are highly regarded.
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Open communicator, with analytical and critical thinking skills and willingness to make a positive contribution and improvements.
• Be self-driven and motivated to learn new skills, contribute your ideas and develop yourself as a professional Geologist.
• Valid manual Driver's Licence (Class 6) with recent driving experience well regarded.
