EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – LICENSED ELECTRICIANS FOR UPCOMING PROJECTS

PNG Industry Manpower Solutions (PIMS) is preparing for a range of upcoming projects across Papua New Guinea and is currently building a talent pool of qualified professionals. We are seeking Licensed Electricians who may be available for future work in the following sectors:

• Oil & Gas Drilling and Exploration
• Mining Operations
• Equipment Rentals
• Construction Projects

These roles are not immediately available but will form part of our workforce planning for projects expected to commence in the near future. Joining our talent pool is a proactive step toward being considered for deployment as opportunities arise.

Position will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Licensed Electricians to perform various tasks, including installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems. They must be able to read electrical diagrams, troubleshoot issues using test equipment, and repair or replace faulty components. A crucial part of the role is inspecting systems for hazards and ensuring all work meets PNG Power regulations and relevant standards like the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules. They may also supervise junior staff, keep records, conduct preventative maintenance, and follow

safety protocols, especially in hazardous environments.

To succeed in this role, Candidates will meet the following criteria:

• Must have recognised trade qualifications/apprenticeship
• Have a valid PNG Power Electrical License
• All-round preventative maintenance experience
• Must have three (3) years of validated experience

Candidates with experience in working on AC variable frequency drives, DC control systems, digital and analogue instrument systems, Hazardous Area rated equipment, VFD’s and PLC’s will be an advantage.
