The opportunity
Our client, a leading organisation in the Beverage Manufacturing sector, is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven professional to develop and maintain critical partnerships with the Government and key regulatory bodies to advance the organisation’s interests.
The Role
In this role, the ideal candidate will provide relevant feedback on strategies to enhance government relations and implement plans to manage local legislators and regulators. The candidate will manage high-level, critical relationships and facilitate meetings between senior management and regulatory officials. The candidate will also prepare industry papers and develop strategies to minimise negative impacts from changes in excise duties, taxes, or regulatory rulings
Main duties include:
- Provide relevant feedback on strategies to develop and sustain relationships with the Government and stakeholders.
- Develop strategies to build relationships with relevant Government authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Represent the organisation’s position on Government policy to relevant authorities and trade bodies.
- Plan and implement strategies to promote the company's point of view to local legislators and regulators.
- Spearhead the team in planning engagement programmes and preparing papers on industry issues.
- Develop strategies and position papers to minimise potential negative effects from changes in excise duty or tax regimes.
- Monitor, analyse, and interpret developments in politics and Government policies.
- Alert management to any proposed changes to law or policies that may impact the business.
- Manage the organisation’s most high-level, complex, or critical Government relationships.
- Facilitate meetings between company management and Government or regulatory officials.
Qualification and Experience:
- University degree in Economics, Business Economics, Commerce, Law, Political Science, or Computer Science.
- 5 years of experience in the Government and/or Private Sector.
- English language proficiency is a must; local languages are an advantage.
- Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good understanding of Government and Corporate Sector relationships.
