Trukai Industries Limited is seeking a motivated and proactive Field Officer – Unitech Site to support the implementation of rice development initiatives and farmer engagement programs. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance to rice growers, monitor field activities, collect and report production data, and contribute to improving rice productivity and sustainability within project communities.

This position will be based in Lae, Morobe Province and report to the Site Manager.

Key Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Science in Agriculture, Agriculture & Rural Development or Bachelor in Sustainable Tropical Agriculture
• Experience working with farmers, agricultural extension services, or community development programs.
• Knowledge of rice cultivation practices, crop management, land preparation, planting, pest and disease control, and harvesting techniques.
• Ability to conduct field visits, provide technical advice, and support farmer training and capacity-building activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with farmers, communities, and stakeholders.
• Good planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data recording systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in achieving program objectives.
• Understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental practices.
