Position

We’re seeking to recruit a results-driven professional Financial Controller for our Port Moresby office.

The Financial Controller is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s financial operations to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance. This role provides timely and reliable financial reporting, oversees budgeting and forecasting processes, and safeguards the integrity of internal controls. By analyzing financial performance and offering strategic insights, the Financial Controller supports senior management in effective decision-making, business planning, and cost control initiatives. Additionally, the position fosters collaboration with auditors, banks, and regulators, while mentoring and supervising accounting staff to build a high-performing finance team that drives organizational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial operations.
• Prepare financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate management reporting.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Monitor financial performance and analyze variances.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes.
• Coordinate and liaise with auditors, banks, and regulators.
• Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Support business planning and cost control initiatives.

Qualifications & Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA qualification
• Minimum 5–8 years’ relevant experience in finance or accounting
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and taxation
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
