FLIGHT DISPATCHER

We are pleased to announce an open vacancy now exists in our Flight Operations Department for a qualified and experienced Flight Dispatcher.

Based in Port Moresby this position will report to the Flight Dispatch Team Leader. The Flight Dispatcher shall be responsible for ensuring successful and timely completion of all allocated flight dispatch duties.

The Flight Dispatcher will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

• Compiling, interpreting, and disseminating weather and NOTAMS for all air operations.
• Generating all domestic computerised and manual flights plans for company aircraft.
• Providing flight dispatch support for all scheduled and non-scheduled flights.
• Conducting flight following of all flight movements.
• Providing updated weather, NOTAMs, and any pertinent information to continuing flights as applicable.
• Maintaining, registering, and updating flight operations document in the fleet office, flight dispatch library, and flight crew room and aircraft libraries; maintaining stocks of consumables.
• Arranging international diplomatic and airways clearances for outbound and inbound ferries, charters, and extra services.
• Allocating and collecting Electronic Flight Bags (applicable to aircraft type).
• Assisting in schedule recovery plans with reference to NOTAM and weather interpretation and re-planning
• Monitoring and attending to incoming messages and enquiries referred to Flight Dispatch.
• Maintaining current Operational notice boards.
• Other duties as delegated by the Flight Dispatch Supervisor.

To be considered, you must have the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience:

• Previous experience in the Aviation industry
• Grade 12 or higher completion or equivalent qualification
• Document control knowledge and understanding
• Completed medical to verify fitness for work
• Auditing experience (not required but it is an advantage)
  • Strong level in MS Suites especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Good organization and planning skills
  • Problem analysis and problem solving skills
  • Able to manage own workload, set and meet deadlines and operate independently with minimum level of supervision.
  • Hardworking, trustworthy and result focused
  • Knowledge of workplace Safety and understanding
  • Having Business management qualification is a bonus
