Purpose of the Role

Are you a proactive and strategic thinker with a passion for safeguarding financial services? As the Fraud, Cyber, and Financial Crime Risk Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in our team by mitigating risks associated with retail products, particularly personal and home loan products. This is a new role in the business and is crucial for upholding the organisation’s integrity, shielding it from threats related to fraud, cyberattacks, and financial crimes.

About the Role

This position focuses on risk mitigation for personal loan and home loan products, as well as monitoring fraud and ensuring robust risk controls. You will lead investigative efforts, collaborating with teams across the organisation to develop and implement strategies that protect against emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex, intelligence-driven investigations to identify and address fraud, financial crime, and cyber threats.
  • Enhance risk mitigation by reviewing processes, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing more efficient procedures.
  • Proactively communicate critical risks and facilitate strategic responses to mitigate future threats.
  • Prioritise significant investigations, ensuring adequate resources and strategic focus.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement follow-up actions, track responses, and uphold governance standards.
Key Success Indicators
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented approach.
  • Proven experience in risk management within a retail banking financial services environment, especially related to fraud prevention, cybersecurity, and financial crimes.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and apply risk policies effectively.
  • Collaborative skills to work closely with internal teams (e.g., Credit Risk, Retail CVM & Product, Operational Risk) and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a compliance, regulatory, or investigative role, ideally within a retail banking financial institution.
  • Strategic experience in mitigating financial crime risks and reviewing risk-related processes in regulated environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, especially with data interrogation and financial analysis.
