GEDSI Advocate
The University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead the University’s Gender Equity, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) initiatives. This role is integral to transforming the organizational culture to be more inclusive for staff and students in line with the University’s Strategic Plan 2025-2029.
Primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the development, implementation, and review of the University’s GEDSI strategy in alignment with the National Public Service Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Policy.
- Provide advisory leadership to Senior Executive Management, Heads of Departments, and Section Heads to integrate GEDSI principles into operational plans.
- Develop, implement, and review GEDSI policies, programming frameworks, and monitoring & evaluation tools.
- Plan, implement, and oversee GEDSI-related projects to achieve inclusive outcomes for women, people with disabilities, and marginalized groups.
- Conduct research and analysis to support continuous improvements in gender equality and social inclusion practices.
- Represent the University at GEDSI forums and contribute to best practices in the field.
- Provide training and capacity-building support to staff and stakeholders to promote a GEDSI-responsive environment.
- Develop innovative approaches to enhance the effectiveness of GEDSI initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Department or the University Management.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of the National Public Service GEDSI Policy and the University Strategic Plan 2025-2029.

Conditions of Service
Assistant Registrar I/II PGK40,781 - PGK56,902 per annum
Domestic Market Allowance PGK1,800 - PGK10,683 per annum
(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
