The Role

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager – Corporate Services is a full-time, on-site role based in the National Capital District, Papua New Guinea. This position oversees core corporate functions, including human resources, Facilities, administration, and compliance, ensuring they operate efficiently and align with the company’s strategic goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and mentoring corporate services teams, managing budgets and resource allocation, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing policies and procedures that support effective operations. The General Manager will coordinate cross-functional initiatives, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure adherence to regulatory and governance requirements. The role also involves preparing executive reports, supporting senior leadership in decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across corporate services.

In This Role, You Will

• Provide overall leadership for the Human Resources function, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management
• Lead the development and consistent application of HR policies, procedures and employment documentation, ensuring compliance with Papua New Guinea employment legislation
• Provide strategic direction for family welfare, liaison and support services for employees and their families, including relocation, settlement and community integration
• Oversee the safe, efficient and professional operation of PNG Chiefs’ facilities and accommodation, including maintenance, bookings, and service provider relationships
• Support operational planning for the Centre of Excellence and other current or future PNG Chiefs’ facilities
• Build and lead an effective Corporate Services function, including budgets, procurement, contracts and reporting
• Ensure effective coordination between HR, welfare, facilities, finance, security and other business functions
• Contribute to organizational strategy, annual planning, workforce design and long-term capability development as a member of the Senior Management Team
• Provide trusted advice to the CEO and Senior Management Team on people, welfare, facilities and governance matters

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior management or corporate services leadership role, with responsibility for people, operations, facilities, administration, or related business functions.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and supporting organizational growth in complex or evolving environments.
• Experience working across diverse cultural settings, ideally within the Pacific region, developing markets, or comparable international environments.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and improve systems, policies, and operational frameworks within a growing organization.
• Strong knowledge of governance, compliance, risk management, and employment practices.
• Experience managing budgets, procurement activities, contracts, and stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to relocate to and work on site, adapting effectively to a dynamic and culturally diverse environment.
