This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring all facilities are safe, compliant, efficient, and operating to the highest standards.
The General Manager will oversee multi-site operations, maintenance, engineering, utilities, cleaning, and site services, ensuring these functions align with corporate strategy, HSSEQ standards, sustainability goals, and long-term property development plans.
Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Provide strategic direction across all Facilities & Services operations.
- Implement operational plans aligned with the Property Division’s objectives.
- Drive performance, service quality, and operational readiness across all sites.
- Oversee asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and critical infrastructure reliability.
- Deliver effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Lead capital works, upgrades, energy-efficiency projects, and asset replacement initiatives.
- Implement improvements in CMMS/BMS, inventory systems, digital logs, and 10-year capex planning.
- Present monthly performance dashboards covering uptime, safety, KPIs, risks, and cost performance.
- Manage divisional budgets, expenditure, and cost efficiency targets.
- Develop business cases for major projects, upgrades, and asset replacements.
- Lead procurement, contractor performance management, and tendering processes.
- Establish and enforce SLAs, contracts, and value-for-money outcomes with critical service providers.
- Champion a zero-harm culture and ensure compliance with PNG laws, safety standards, and corporate HSSEQ policies.
- Manage operational risks and ensure robust safety, environmental, and quality systems.
- Lead, coach, and develop multi-disciplinary teams across multiple sites.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, project teams, and external partners.
- Provide technical input into new developments, refurbishments, and major projects.
- Represent Facilities & Services in executive forums and cross-divisional initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Property, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Business or Project Management (desirable).
- Professional certifications (IFMA, FMA) and WHS/Safety accreditation (advantageous).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in facilities, engineering, or property operations management.
- Proven leadership of multi-site operations and technical teams.
- Strong contract management, financial acumen, and asset lifecycle management capability.
