GENERAL MANAGER CAMG

An opportunity has risen within the CAMG Division based in Port Moresby. The General Manager CAMG is to recognize safety as a core value in all decision making involving continuing airworthiness of the PNG Air fleet. Also putting the safety management plan into effect as it applies to continuing airworthiness activities.

The General Manager CAMG will be responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the following key areas:

Maintenance Control

  • Ensuring PNG Air aircraft and installed equipment are maintained in accordance with a PNG CASA approved customized maintenance programme established in accordance with the procedures in the Continuing Airworthiness Management Manual.
  • Ensuring the availability of aircraft for required maintenance through liaison with Airline Operations and the CEO.
  • Creating and maintaining MELs for aircraft types and ensuring MEL conditions and limitations are adhered to through a monitoring process.
  • Ensuring all discrepancies are assessed for impact on airworthiness, any deferrals correctly recorded, and where applicable categorized as defects and rectified accordingly.
  • Ensuring the standards and procedures specified in the aircraft maintenance programs are adhered to, all maintenance is correctly certified and aircraft are released to service after maintenance.
  • Ensuring all modifications and repairs are embodied in accordance with approved data and complete and accurate records are maintained in the system of aircraft logbooks.
  • Ensuring all applicable flight records, logs and documents are made available to PNG Air MRO and other contractors to support required maintenance.
  • Establishing the maintenance status of any leased aircraft and providing associated records to the maintenance provider.
  • Ensuring external maintenance providers are provided with or have access to, the relevant portions of the current Exposition.
  • Ensuring PNG Air MRO and any external maintenance provider holds or is provided with, copies of relevant manufacturers maintenance manuals.
  • Ensuring applicable Airworthiness Directives are accomplished.
  • Ensuring continuing airworthiness data which is assessed by Technical Services as appropriate for action by PNG Air, in the form of Service Bulletins and similar, is acted upon, including consequential changes to maintenance programs.
  • Varying maintenance programs where service experience supports a variation.
  • Authorising extensions to B and C category MEL items.
  • In liaison with the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Safety & Quality regularly reviewing the effectiveness of internal and external maintenance agreements.
  • Providing advice to the Chief Executive Officer on matters relating to airworthiness.

Forecasting and Planning

  • Managing systems necessary to plan and ensure accomplishment of required maintenance so that airworthiness limitations are not exceeded, including rectification of defects, embodiment of modifications and repairs, and compliance with airworthiness directives.
  • Providing reports on projected maintenance for management perusal.
  • Ensuring required maintenance is notified to maintenance providers in the form of Work Packs with the optimum prior notification.
  • Ensuring peak operational demands are taken into account in long range forecasting of maintenance.
  • Ensuring close liaison between Continuing Airworthiness planning and Part 145 production planning.

Regulatory Compliance and Approvals:

  • Issuing Special Flight Permits in accordance with the CASA approved continuing authorization.
  • Ensuring aircraft are withdrawn from service when required maintenance has not been accomplished and cannot be deferred.
  • Liaising directly with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority on matters relating to the airworthiness of the PNG Air fleet.
  • Preparing amendments to the Continuing Airworthiness Manual as required.
  • Controlling the production and distribution of copies of the Continuing Airworthiness Management Manual and aircraft MELs.
  • Liaising with the Regulatory Compliance & Safety Advisor on matters concerning regulatory compliance.
  • Implementing any corrective and preventative actions resulting from audits of the continuing airworthiness management function.
  • Holding in secure storage original certificates and approvals pertaining to the airworthiness of aircraft.

Aircraft Records:

  • Managing the airworthiness control elements of the applicable maintenance tracking software in regard to the status of aircraft, engines and components, periodic inspections, scheduled and unscheduled special inspections, component finite and overhaul lives and other maintenance events specified in the maintenance programme.
  • Ensuring aircraft logbooks are maintained accurately in the prescribed manner.

To be considered, you must have the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience:

  • 5 years Technical Experience
  • 3 years in experience in a supervisory position
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of the maintenance parts of the company’s exposition and the applicable maintenance provisions of CA Rule Part 121
  • Hold or have held LAME license
  • General Airline experience with thorough knowledge in airline commercial/private operations.
  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership quality
  • Must Demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of planning and cost controls.
