Position

We are seeking an experienced General Manager – Retail Division to lead and scale our Department Store and Grocery operations as part of the continued growth and professionalisation of 1 Stop Village.

About the Role

The General Manager – Retail Division will have full responsibility for the performance of the retail business, including:

• End-to-end leadership of Department Store and Grocery operations
• Full accountability for gross profit, inventory, and cost control
• Leading, developing, and holding store leadership teams accountable
• Improving systems, processes, and operational standards
• Strengthening stock integrity, margin discipline, and governance
• Driving sustainable, profitable growth rather than short-term turnover
• Reporting directly to the Chairman and Chief Operating Officer

This role carries significant autonomy and influence and is central to the Group’s long-term retail strategy.

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years’ experience in retail operations, ideally at GM / Head of Retail level
• Proven track record in gross profit management, inventory control, and margin discipline
• Experience managing large-format retail, grocery, or multi-category environments
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to operate in a hands-on PNG context
• Comfortable working with owners, boards, and executive teams
• Experience in PNG or similar emerging markets highly regarded
