Goods Inwards Officer
An opportunity has risen within the Engineering Division for an experienced Goods Inwards Officer. This position will functionally report to the Purchasing Supervisor. The Goods Inwards Officer will be responsible for the Aircraft parts Inventory including receiving, issuing, storage and control in accordance with established procedures
- Fostering a positive safety and quality culture within his or her area of responsibility and by personal example, demonstrating a commitment to the company safety and quality policies
- Ensuring that all aircraft components, parts thereof, spares and materials received from manufacturers, their agents or other suppliers are obtained from an approved source
- Ensuring that upon receipt of all such components, the correct modification status and technical specification/instructions have been complied with in accordance with the original order
- Where technical instructions have not been complied with during maintenance or overhaul of components, completing an Inspection Reject Note
- Performing a physical check for damage and serviceability of all incoming components or spares and ensuring that protective covers, containers and storage blanks are in place prior to transfer of such goods to be bonded stores area
- Maintaining an adequate system of stock order/receipt batching and release recording to facilitate audit trail action
- Exercising strict surveillance of the movement of U/S components or parts located in the U/S rack and monitoring the time taken to prepare and clear paperwork required to transfer such items for Stores processing
- Ensuring the Manager Safety & Quality MRO is notified of any deficiencies detected in the operation of the U/S rack
- Notifying the Manager Safety & Quality MRO of any Inspection Notices required in respect of airworthiness or similar undesirable condition of the Company’s spare parts inventory
- Releasing items in, and through, the computer system once satisfied with the required paperwork
- Ensuring effective liaison and communication with all Logistics personnel in regard to the Stores Inspection function
For your application to be competitive, you will have relevant qualification with previous experience in a similar role including having the following key attributes;
- Minimum 3 years’ working experience in Aviation Store/Warehouse/Stores knowledge is an advantage but not essential
- Grade 12 level education
- Experienced with MS Office software
