GRADUATE ACCOUNTANT

We are pleased to announce an open vacancy exists in our Finance Department for a qualified and experienced Graduate Accountant. The position is based in Port Moresby.

The Graduate Accountant will provide support to the assistant and financial accountant by participating in completing various financial statements in timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Documenting all financial transactions that occur within the organization, including sales, purchases, expenses, and investments.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of transactions in accounting software or ledger systems.
• Verifying the accuracy and completeness of transaction documentation.
• Assist in Preparing Financial Statements as directed by assistant and financial accountant;
• Utilize accounting software to record transactions, generate reports, and perform financial analysis as directed
• Help in monitoring internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accuracy of financial records, and prevent fraud
• Assisting with external audits:
• Provide support in reviewing and reconciling various general ledger accounts, including cash, revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities
• Ad-hoc projects and request
• Ensure that all documents are accurately labeled, filed, and stored in a systematic manner to facilitate easy retrieval when needed.
• Ensure regular physical and electronic filings are maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required.
• working towards professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for conveying financial information clearly with colleagues.
