GROUND OPERATIONS TRAINER

An opportunity has risen within the Operations Division for an experienced Ground Operations Trainer.

This position will report to the Ground Operations Training and Compliance Manager and will be responsible for producing and delivering aviation training in line with company procedures, and ensuring that staff understand the components on the trained material.

The following are key Responsibilities and duties:

  • Provide assistance and feedback for the development of the Ground Operations Training Plan.
  • Develop and maintain an effective training program for the Ground operations department with the aim of ensuring staff within the department are compliant with all current and proposed regulations and legislation;
  • Ensure training processes are documented in the relevant manuals
  • Constant improvement of training programs using various learning styles and delivery methods, such as face to face, or online learning to optimize learning outcomes;
  • Ensuring that training material development is aligned to the overall requirements of Ground operations
  • Incorporating industry best practice in learning techniques and instructional design;
  • Provide input on the development of a cost effective training schedule
  • Using company systems, maintain training records for all staff;
  • Provide reports to the Ground operations training and compliance manager for future training requirements.
  • Performing regular internal audits of training records ensuring all staff have completed the relevant regulatory and company training within agreed timeframes;
  • Coordinating and assisting scheduled third party, and internal auditing requirements;
  • Developing and maintaining a learning assessment and evaluation program;
  • Scheduling courses and personnel to attend these courses to ensure all staff and contractors have been trained and checked to meet compliance requirements and remain current.
  • Assist the safety and compliance team with audits.
  • Co-facilitate JSA training with Safety and Compliance team.

For your application to be competitive, you will have relevant qualification with previous experience in a similar role including having the following key attributes;

  • Minimum of Grade 12 Higher School Certificate with appropriate relevant work experience
  • Have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Minimum 5 years of proven training experience in Ground Operations Training
  • Be able to understand and communicate with staff at all levels;
  • Have excellent customer service skills; and
  • Have advanced computer skills preferably in the Microsoft suite of products
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation
  • Should have advanced technical skills and customer service experience within the aviation industry or similar work environment
  • Comply with the provisions of the Safety Policy, Quality Policy, Just culture and all other policies contained in the Corporate Management and Policy Manual relevant to assigned duties and responsibilities
