THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this key position will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting across all divisions within the CHM Group. The role involves group consolidation, management reporting, audit coordination, and financial process improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial backbone of a leading PNG business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial reports across all divisions.
• Support management reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting.
• Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Maintain strong internal controls and improve financial systems and processes.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Support treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and reporting.
• Collaborate with divisional finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.

THE CANDIDATE

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical accounting strength and a solutions-focused mindset.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• A professional qualification such as CPA (PNG), CA, or CPA Australia (or working towards).
• 6+ years’ accounting experience, including group or multi-entity consolidation exposure.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and PNG accounting standards.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems (Pronto, Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and analytical ability.
• A proactive approach to improving systems, controls, and reporting processes.
• Excellent problem solving skills with proven ability to work to deadlines
