An opportunity exists for an experienced finance executive to lead the financial control function of a diversified group in the financial services sector. This role is responsible for overseeing regulatory reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, managing financial reporting systems, and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities.
Working closely with senior leaders, the Group Financial Controller reports directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer and plays a critical role in business planning, capital and balance sheet management, and financial governance. The position also leads the continued rollout and integration of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system across the group.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide leadership in financial control, statutory and regulatory reporting, and oversight of financial operations
- Ensure effective governance over financial commitments, vendor payments, and budget control
- Drive timely reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance with internal and external audit requirements
- Contribute to strategic planning and scenario analysis to support capital and funding decisions
- Develop accounting policies and frameworks aligned with international standards
- Lead preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and member communications
- Oversee system enhancements and process automation across finance functions
- Manage a multi-level finance team and ensure capability development, performance management, and succession planning
- Degree-qualified in Accounting with ACA or equivalent professional certification
- 12–15 years of financial leadership experience within the banking or financial services industry
- Strong technical expertise in financial reporting, accounting standards, and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated experience in ERP implementation and financial systems management
- Proven ability to work with senior leadership and boards on strategic financial matters
- Strong people leadership, analytical capability, and communication skills
